Ascot Lloyd: ‘We're looking at how we can invest in an adviser academy’

“But the main thing they said was continue to do what you're doing, [they just asked] how can we invest to make you better at that.

“That means continuing to grow organically and doing what we've been doing but on a larger scale, being better funded and better supported with internal resources.”

Kerr said a big part of this was investing internally to have a “leading edge” of being an IFA firm.

“It's not just about adding stuff on, it's about bringing them along that journey with us. For example, how can we build best practice processes, systems etc,” he said.

“There's been no change in terms of what we do from an M&A perspective because they don't have skin in the UK market. It's not like they own a platform saying how are we going to get all these assets onto this?”
