Mike Morrow to join Parmenion after Openwork exit

Mike Morrow is set to join platform Parmenion, FTAdviser has learned.

Morrow, whose departure from the Openwork Partnership was announced last week, will join Parmenion as chief commercial officer in March 2022.

He will be responsible for delivering the business's growth agenda as it focuses on the independent financial advice market.

Martin Jennings, chief executive of Parmenion, said: "Mike’s understanding and experience of working with financial advisers will be hugely valuable as we focus our growth plans on the independent advice market.”

Morrow said: “I’m excited to be joining Parmenion at this pivotal point in its rapid growth plans. This is a business that enjoys a fantastic reputation in the market in terms of service and proposition excellence."

He added: "I am really looking forward to getting started and being part of this team as they continue to innovate and work collaboratively with the advice profession to meet customer needs and deliver great outcomes.”

Morrow, who had been wealth and platform director at the Openwork Partnership, was promoted to the role of chief commercial officer in January as the business focused on expanding its wealth proposition.

At the time, the financial advice and investment network said it had appointed Morrow to lead on developing its proposition, wealth platform and contractual relationships with adviser firms and third parties.

Earlier this year, Morrow also joined the board of adviser trade body Pimfa.

In November, FTAdviser reported that Openwork Partnership had appointed Stuart Dodson as managing director after announcing Morrow was leaving after six years at the network.

At the time, Philip Howell, chief executive of The Openwork Partnership, said: “Our senior leadership team plans have been carefully managed to achieve the right combination of complementary skills to execute our strategy.

"We are sorry to see Mike leave and he does so with our genuine gratitude and best wishes for the future to a new personal opportunity.”

Also in November, the Openwork Partnership announced it is joining forces with specialist insurance broker Cura Financial Services to enhance its protection proposition.

As reported at the time, the company said bringing Cura Financial Services to the network would allow its advisers to help clients with specialist protection needs such as life, critical illness, and income protection insurance.

This came after the Openwork Partnership launched a share programme for its partners, offering them the option to buy or sell units in the partnership.
